Being a kaitiaki is like taking care of people and places. The meaning of kaitiaki is guardianship. Guardianship is like protecting friends and family and other people important people in our lives.

Papatuanuku is the earth mother and she gives birth to all things including people.

The lands , sea , forests , water , soil , mountains and she’s the earth mother.

Water is important because you have to stay healthy and you have to give the water to the nature and to the animals.

4.What is pollution.

Pollution is anything that makes the earth dirty and unhealthy. Pollution is like throwing rubbish everywhere.

5.How is water being polluted?

Human activities that generate domestic sewage and toxic waste cause water pollution by contaminating water with diseases-causing microorganisms and poisonous substances.

6.How can the water pollution be prevented?

Don’t discard waste paper , wiping cloth and any other synthetic garbage clown the toilet drain. This results in clogging of the drains and sleeping of the chemicals.

7.How are the forests being destroyed?

Deforestation is when humans remove or thin forests for lumber or to use the land where the trees stood for crops , grazing , extraction , crimping or grass or grass or development as the population increases and people migrate.

8.What can be done to prevent forest destructions?

There are three ways to reverse these losses:offorestion , reforestation and the natural regeneration of forests ecosystem. Afforestation refers to planting forests where there were none before , or forests have been missing for a long time-so years or more.

2.Why is Tangaroa important in Māori mythology?

As  Tangaroa was the god of the (atua) of the sea.It was important to offer him before setting out for travel or fishing. Tangaroa made laws to protect the ocean and its sea creatures.
