 Have you ever wondered who is Jean Batten ? Jean Batten is a woman who died while flying a plane. Jean Batten also earned a private pilot's license in 1930. In may 1934 she set a women's record in her solo flight from England to Australia in 14 days , 23 hours , 25 minutes. Jean Batten was New Zealand ‘ s greatest aviator , celebrate around the world for her heroic solo flights during the 1930s. Jean Batten , the brave , trail-blazing and glamorous aviator , who strove to set new records in death-defying solo flights across the world. Jane Gardener Batten was born on 15 September 1909 in Rotorua. She soon became known as Jean. In 1913 she moved to Auckland with her parents and two older brothers.
